The idea behind this route
Browse north through Ginza, pause for bills, then continue toward Nihonbashi for two different department-store stops. Pick a floor or two at each; the day is about finding things you love, not seeing every counter.
Shopping · Food · WalkingBefore you go
The core route runs Ginza Mitsukoshi → bills Ginza → Nihombashi Takashimaya → Nihombashi Mitsukoshi. The Ginza-to-Nihonbashi stretch is a substantial outdoor walk via Kyobashi; use the Ginza Line to Nihombashi if your feet or the weather prefer. Store floors and restaurants can have different hours. Check the official floor guides and avoid carrying heavy purchases all day.
Food plan. Book or check bills Ginza for a seated brunch/lunch break: its signature is ricotta hotcakes, not soufflé pancakes. The restaurant is on Okura House 12F. If it is full, choose a seated restaurant in a department store; basement food halls are useful for takeaway, but do not assume seating is provided.
Weather plan. The shops offer indoor browsing, but the links between neighborhoods are outdoors. In heavy rain, take the train between Ginza and Nihonbashi, or keep only the Nihonbashi pair and a meal.
Optional extensions
These extras are not added when you use this day.
For the stationery person
