Asakusa, then room to breathe

4 stops
  1. 1

  2. 2

    Nakamise Shopping Street

    Asakusa · shopping

Allow ~30 min. Leave a flexible browsing stop here. Choose one snack or small souvenir rather than trying to turn every shop into an itinerary item.

  3. 3

    Senso-ji

    Asakusa · temple

Allow ~45 min. Make the temple the main stop. Follow posted photography guidance and give people visiting for worship space.

  4. 4

    Sumida Park

    Asakusa · park

Allow ~30 min. Finish beside the river. This is a useful breathing space before lunch or returning to your other saved places.

The idea behind this route

Keep this part of Tokyo together instead of crossing the city between sights. Start with the temple approach, linger where you like, then trade the busy shopping street for the river.

Culture · Easy pace
Before you go

Start around Asakusa Station. Allow extra time for browsing, and check current temple and shop hours. The order below is a suggested walk, not a timed navigation route.

Food plan. Leave 45–60 minutes for lunch after Senso-ji, before the river. Choose somewhere in Asakusa rather than crossing town.

Weather plan. In rain or strong heat, shorten the river walk and take a seated café break. The temple approach is still outdoors.
